Help us in welcoming Mona-Lesa, DPT, and Nick Akgulian, MD!

Mona-Lesa studied PT at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica. Her main reason for choosing Hillside is to make a difference in the lives of others emphasizing service above self. She finds that it is personally important to make a difference in this world wherever she can. Mona-Lesa seeks to enhance the quality of healthcare services provided by her honorable profession throughout the Caribbean, to bring about growth and awareness.

“The secret to joy in work is contained in one word – excellence. To know how to do something well is to enjoy it.” – Pearl S. Buck

She is here to help and make a notable difference in this community, district, and country!

Nick has been a family medicine physician and board certified for the past twenty-five years. He has been involved with Hillside since its inception, serving as a volunteer physician many times before becoming Hillside’s first full-time medical director.

“The Toledo District and its people, along with the clinic, have a special place in my life; I consider it very much to be home. I am ready to provide the best care possible to the community of Toledo. I view returning to Hillside as a privilege and am ready to serve the people of Belize once again.”

Help bring free health care to Southern Belize.

Hillside provides approximately 10,000 clinical and outreach services to the people of Southern Belize each year. Please consider a donation to Hillside Health Care International.
